What is a Cylindrical Mooring Bollard?
Cylindrical Mooring Bollard (also called Round Mooring Bollard) is a marine device used for mooring ships safely at berths, piers, and ports. Vessels are secured by tying ropes around the bollard to hold the ship in place.
Cylindrical Mooring Bollards come in different shapes and sizes depending on the port design. They are usually manufactured and custom-designed according to client requirements. Typical materials include Ductile Cast Iron, Gray Cast Iron, or Cast Steel following standards such as SC450, SC410, FC300, FC350… The height of the bollard can range from 200 mm to 2000 mm, with a maximum weight of up to 5 tons per bollard.
Anchor bolts for bollards are designed per specification, available in cylindrical, conical, or square shapes. They are deeply embedded into reinforced concrete to ensure maximum safety and load resistance for port structures.
For improved performance, bollards are often combined with fenders such as Cone Fender, Cell Fender, or Lambda Fender to increase ship-berthing capacity and ensure safety for various types of vessels.
